I asked this guy if I could take his picture, he said Why, do you love me? in broken English . He didnt mind the photo taking.

This little lady was finishing her lunch and Sangria, she looked like she had certainly enjoyed it!

I spotted Flys bike down here in La Penita! We see very few motorcycles here from the US. Lots of small Mexican brands, and scooters. This bike was from Illinois.. Hoped to talk to the owner, but gave up waiting.

I just couldnt pass up this Mango on a stick. Its a common thing during market day. They are sliced, then covered with lime juice, salt, and some chili. Very tasty!

All the picture in the blog were taken by Preston using his Canon S500 digital camera. I'll probably use it some while we're traveling home too. I mention in these first 8 or 10 pictures the fact my camera was stolen. I'm over the initial trauma of the loss now, so won't be mentioning it again after this. Hope you enjoy the pictures. This is the square where my camera was stolen. There was music, vendors, and an atmosphere of excitement. We were having a fine time until the shoeshine boy left with my camera.

This was the carriage we hired to see the Historic District. It took us around town for an hour, we saw the important old buildings, all very beautiful! I took a lot of pictures.but well never see them.

This old coach was in use in 1770, thats before we even had a united states! We were in a Museum that was just loaded with interesting things.

This was inside the largest Cathedral in Guadalajara. Preston and Karen were inside here when I realized my camera was gone. I found them here and broke the news to them. Had already talked to several people and decided there was no way to recover it, just have to start over and not worry about it being lost. The shoeshine boy will have a good day

This little gal in her Mariachi suit could really sing! I mean.REALLY sing. Wish we had her name, we all believe that some day she will be selling records.

Inside the fruit and vegetable section of the public market in Guadalajara.

This was Valentines Day, 2006. There were lots of balloon vendors around town, lots of beautiful ones. I took several pictures of some of the bundles, one that was all pink and red. It had been a great day until the camera was stolen.

One of the Tripe and Pig feet booths inside the public market. Karen really like this part, especially the whole pigs and cattle that were in various processed of being cut up. It was all very clean, and not too many flies.

Pat loves these fruit cups and flavored rice water drinks. She was getting her last one in Guadlajara. This was after the camera was gone, and we had already made reservations for Pat to fly home so she can help out with her mother.

This is one of the few Rest Areas on the Toll Road between Guadalajara and Tepic, Nyarit, Mexico. Looks nice, but inside it was filthy, and full of bees. Not a nice place. All the pictures on this new blog were taken by Preston with his Canon camera. Well be using his pictures from now on.
